S V Raju

S V Raju (1933-2015) was one of the most prominent Indian Liberals. He was closely associated with Swatantra Party, and was the chief editor of Freedom First for many decades.

A giant of Indian Liberalism, S V Raju worked tirelessly till the end of his life for the cause of liberty.

Raju joined the newly launched Swatantra Party in 1959 as the Executive Secretary and he remained a member till the very end. Raju was an integral part of the Swatantra Party, which at one time was the second largest party in the Parliament—one that boldly challenged the Nehruvian Consensus prevalent at the time.
