The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A.D Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “Bank s Relationship with Customers – Evolving Perspectives” was published in 2008 and was authored by Mrs. Shyamala Gopinath. The author focused on the development of a customer-oriented based bank culture in an evolving landscape of the banks and the challenges it follows in regards to the relationship. The author highlighted the scenarios taking place in the Indian banking sector after the commencement of the reform process that began in the early 90s and it’s imminent transformation therein. The author emphasized the two important developments in the sector and thereby covered the multi-faceted arena of the banking sector. Lastly, the author stressed the approach of transparency for the sustenance of the relationship between the banks and customers to allow the achievement of democratization of the financial sector through this means.
