The following booklet titled “Forum Of Free Enterprise” documents the speech made by Mr. A.D. Shroff at the first press conference of the Enterprise. The narrative unfolds by elaborating on the need for establishing the Forum to preserve the democratic way of life. The speaker further appeals to the institutions of the Press, one of the founding institutions of democratic India, to keep an open mind for expression of views. 

The speaker then comments on the prevailing commercial environment which threatens to disrupt the workings of free enterprise through state encroachment by means of establishing ‘State Trading’. The Forum therefore presents itself as an endeavour to promote general awareness about the necessity of free commerce, which has negatively been dubbed as ‘laissez-faire’. The speaker values a planned economy which regulates the working of free enterprise rather than wholly obstructing its working, as embedded in a welfare state which promotes social upliftment along with profit incentives.
