The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled ‘Integrity in National Life’ is authored by Nittoor Srinivasa Rao and published in 1970. The author talks about corruption and the role of government to maintain integrity and efficiency. He explores the causes of corruption, conditions that foster it, and level of individual and public ethics. He highlights the development of various committees formed to keep corruption in check. He underlines the impact of deterioration of values among political leaders and demoralization of services. He suggests formation of consumer’s organizations, organizations like Citizens’ Advice Bureau to solve the problems of aggrieved citizens.
