The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled ‘International Finance Development- A strategy for India’ is authored by T. Thomas and published in 1982. The author highlights the economic situation of the world and the causes behind the same. He further explores the phases of Indian economy and its needs. He suggests that harnessing resources and investing them for equitable growth is necessary, improving output ratio, enhancing availability of investment capital, etc. He elaborates the channels through which India can gain funds from abroad like official flows, private institutions, direct investment, etc. He examines inhibitions against direct investment and puts forward some suggestions regarding the same.
