The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A.D Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “The Basic truth About Inflation” was published in 1977 and was authored by B.R Shenoy and Henry Hazlitt. The article titled, “Controlling inflation in India,” focused on the resolution of separation of official claims and market-based observations. The article emphasized the strategies that needed to be adopted in controlling inflation through the review of how the trends started taking place. The article further contrasted the division of the economy in two parts. And lastly highlighted the pressures of interest costs and scrutiny of withdrawal of black money. The article titled, “40-year inflation in the USA,” emphasized how the USA’s economy had to witness inflation through and its aftermath. The author focused on the 36 year-period increase in the nation’s capital by 13 times and the consumer prices by 4 times. And lastly concluded with statistical data of money stock, consumer purchasing price index, and the purchasing power of the Dollar.
