The fortnightly journal titled Indian Libertarian was founded in 1954 by Indian liberal, Ranchhoddas Bhuvan Lotwala, and edited by his daughter Kusum R Lotwala. The first April’57 edition was published amid the time of elections’ results and featured several articles that focused on the future of India in the hands of the then winning party. M. G. Bailur highlighted the prospects of the then budget plan and its future in the article titled, “On High Road to Insolvency.” M.A. Venkata Rao in, “An Economic Plan or a Communist Plot?” had questioned the rule of the then party’s focus on uplifting the stands of the economy or transgressing the nation to a socialist regime. Following this, the journal focused on the questions citizens might have had amid the elections. K.D. Valicha in his article titled, “Talking through the hat”  highlighted the evolution of Indian society to a then communist society that consisted of two classes, the politicians and the fools. The article titled, “West Pakistan Under the Jack-Boot of Mirza” explained the political alliance in Pakistan under the then-dictator Mirza. Following this, Salvador Madariaga explained about the displacement of Great Britain from her Middle East positions as patterned in the article titled, “The Eisenhower doctrine.” This edition had also covered several op-eds from famous newspapers that orated the shattered wits of our nation. And further went on to capture important news headlines covering both nation and worldly stands. Lastly, it concluded with book reviews specifically designed for readers believing in the Libertarian stands.
