The Forum of Free Enterprise was a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A.D Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum published booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “Land Reform” was published on February 6, 1958 and was authored by KAEJEE. This booklet addresses the land reforms, including land ceilings and land redistribution, that were initiated in India from 1949. It discusses the stated causes that led to these reforms, and the objectives that were to be achieved through the same. It then goes on to critically analyse whether the given objectives were realised. Further, suggestions and solutions are given to change policy approach towards the core issues at hand regarding the landless labourers, and other issues in the agricultural sector.
