The Forum of Free Enterprise was a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A.D Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum published booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “An Analysis of Union Budget 1965-66” was published in 1965 and was authored by the founder himself. The author provided a critique of the representation of the economic and financial conditions that prevailed in India back then. He further went on to illustrate the contentions presented by the finance minister in regards to the statement of income and expenditure of the entire budget. Mr. Shroff further contrasted the economic condition and the approaches that were needed in order to stabilize India’s economic prosperity.
