The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A.D Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “Prosperity beyond our cities by spreading enterprises” was published in 2007 and was authored by R. Gopalkrishnan. The author highlighted the purview of encouraging free enterprise in relation to the socio economic scene present in India. The author had focused on the entirety of decentralisation and the empowerment of local business and industries for the development of the nation. He further emphasised on liberating India and accentuated the economic growth being on a downward spiral for a few years. Mr. Gopalkrishnan provided the studies conducted by the Department of Economics and Statistics in Tata Services (DES) on entrepreneurship in Little India and quoted some of the features from it. He also illustrated several examples of the existence of enterprises in small places. And lastly hoped for the viability of the Indian sectors’ growth for years to come.
