The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled ‘Strong medicine for India’ is authored by Leland Hazard and published in 1966.He talks about the inherent disease of Indian economy and why strong medicine needs to be given. He suggests that India leave the assumption that it is a strong spiritual force with a weak physical body. He recommends modernization of agriculture, focusing on birth control, economic growth, government decontrol, appointment of technicians for bureaucratic positions, promotion of television on a national scale, nuclear power, and emphasis on scientific innovation . He advocates western aid with the condition of efficient Indian administration and decontrol.
