The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled ‘Role of Management in Productive movement’ is authored by S. Anantharamakrishnan and published in 1960. The author talks about the productivity movement, estimates of Public Commission, benefits of higher productivity, and the role of government. He highlights cardinal principles of modern industrial management and the need for efficient training for higher management. He recommends adoption of productivity techniques, improving industrial relations, personnel policy, focusing on communication, sharing gains of productivity, and research industry. He illustrates how the concept of productivity is linked to managerial efficiency and productivity of industrial enterprise which reflectives the efficiency of the top management.
