The following booklet is titled “Chinese Competition Challenges and Opportunities” was published on 23,Oct, 2002 and was authored by Dr.P.N.G Subramanian. The author begins the text by explaining the basis of China’s economic development which comprises the countries’ social-political structure, developing strategy they adopted and its economic and political interaction with the world and its powerful countries. The author briefly elucidates China’s economic state before liberalisation and after liberalisation in the most important sectors like agriculture, Industry and construction, Investment and assets, State-owned enterprises, Foreign-trade. Subramanian clearly establishes what the points of gain were for China and then they move on to speculating the challenges that Indo-Chinese trade would face and how can the Indian government overcome these.
