‘The Indian Libertarian’ was a fortnightly journal, founded in 1954 by Indian liberal, Ranchhoddas Bhuvan Lotwala, and edited by his daughter Kusum R Lotwala. This edition (Vol. 5, No. 18) of the journal was published on December 1, 1957. The editorial covers developments in India-Pakistan relations and the then Defence Minister, V K Krishna Menon’s role in it, along with other domestic and international affairs. Other issues covered in this edition include developments in US-USSR relations, India-Pakistan relations in the context of the Kashmir issue, the issue of official language and simmering tensions surrounding the linguistic divide in the country and the libertarian perspective of the welfare state. The contributors to this edition include, M A Venkata Rao, Baburao Patel, J K Dhairyawan, Prof B R Shenoy, and Al Kafir. This edition also includes a section on book reviews, followed by another on Letters to the Editor.
