‘The Indian Libertarian’ was a fortnightly journal, founded in 1954 by Indian liberal, Ranchhoddas Bhuvan Lotwala, and edited by his daughter Kusum R Lotwala. This edition (Vol. 7, No. 21) of this journal was published on December 1, 1959 and contains several articles. The editorial covers Pandit Nehru’s seventieth birthday, his reference to retirement again, the communist party of India at Meerut, mob explosion at Kanpur, Indo-Chinese Border struggle and USA secretary of state’s neutralist talk. “A Party of Freedom” by “Democrat” refers to the Swantarta Party as a party of freedom and expresses that the swing to freedom  began. “Can India Be Defended?” by Reginald Hargreaves talks about invasion routes. “The International Congress of Freethinkers talks about the international Congress as an assembly of women and men with a common ideal that is the liberation of the human mind. Further the article talks about a new humanist manifesto, and a science attitude of mind. “Russia Scales the Himalayas” by A.R. Field talks about the introduction of a new political factor that was introduced in the sub-Himalayan region and the view of Mr. Shroff on state ownership is a failure. “The meaning of Alienation–II” by Daniel Bell talks about the history of philosophy, alienation and property system. The article ends with News Digest containing Dr. Prasad’s message to Mr. Eisenhower, profit motive in Red China, Nehru’s Fanaticism, and several others.
