The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled ‘Trends In Industrial Finance In India And Elsewhere’ is a book form of a lecture delivered by Mr Rashad Kaldany on the auspices of the A.D Shroff Memorial Trust in Bombay. The booklet was published on 29th April 1998.
The booklet elaborates on the changing role of banks and mitigating the risks of all the stakeholders involved in a financial transaction. Mr Kaldany discusses the merits of the leasing industry as an important source of financial investment. He further signifies the contribution of the microfinance institutions in building a culture of saving and investment among the labour class and also providing credits to small enterprises in places like Kenya, Bosnia, the West Bank and Gaza.
