The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled ‘Quality In Banking’ is a book form of a lecture delivered by Mr N Vaghul on the auspices of the A.D Shroff Memorial Trust in Bombay. The booklet was published on 20th December 1989.
In this booklet, Mr Vaghul gives prominence for improvising the quality of the banking system. He demonstrates the need to have provided the right information about the banking assets to the general public, and to improve the quality of customer care services and housekeeping. He further elaborates that the strength of a bank does not lie in numbers, it lies in the quality of the loan portfolio. Lastly, he expresses the importance of taking advantage of technology and other such rich resources in improving the overall standards of the banking system.
