The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet is titled “Reshaping The Constitution: Implications Of The Swaran Singh Committee’s Recommendations”. The text is written by N. A. Palkhivala who has offered his views on the committee’s recommendation on amendments in the constitution. He lauds some of the recommendations. The prose is good to read and many of the topics discussed in the booklet hold relevance even today.
