The following booklet titled “Forum Of Free Enterprise – A Manifesto” presents the motives and objectives behind the establishment of the Forum of Free Enterprise. The booklet elaborates on the need for preventing a monopoly of either State or private ventures, which can be prevented through cooperative efforts of both sectors. In light of recent trends of increasing economic interventions of the State, the Enterprise expresses its aim of restoring a free economic society characterised by democratic values which caters to the progress of society. The forum exemplifies their stance by commenting on development of the industries of steel, sugar among others despite prevailing hardships. It aims to enhance its performance through increased competition, providing better alternatives to consumers, and disseminating public education about the achievements of free economic enterprise. The Enterprise thus visualises itself as ‘economic democracy in action’.
