The following booklet is titled “Challenges of Transforming India” was published in January 2017 and was authored by Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog, Govt. of India. The author acknowledges that if India has to grow rapidly some challenges needs to be taken care of such as making India business-friendly, making India an integral part of the global supply chain, creating an environment for start-ups, to create an atmosphere for innovation all around India, the challenge of organization, the role of women in India’s growth and their contribution in India’s GDP, infrastructure, market reforms, and transforming institutions. The author further elucidates how to overcome these challenges and presents the measures and initiatives taken by the government to overcome these hurdles to accelerate growth. The text ends with the view that if India has to grow at 9-10% India has to create a creative spirit of the 14th and 19th century where every Indian felt proud of his country and created an exhilarating atmosphere.
