The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A.D Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “Corruption in Indian Medicine” was published in 2014 and was authored by Dr. S. Nundy. The author has focused on the downfall of the health sector. The author called for the immediate attention of the Government and the Medical Council of India to intervene in the raging malpractices that are seeping into the sector. The author highlighted the article, “Corruption ruins the doctor-patient relationship in India” which was written by David Beger, a district medical officer who narrated his pitiful experiences in a small charitable hospital in the Himalayas. The author lastly provided some suggestions on how reforms can take place in the sector. The booklet also included an extract from the economic survey presented to the parliament for providing quality and affordable healthcare.
