The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet is titled “Giving is Receiving” was published in January 2019 and was authored by Mrs. Meena Shenoy. The text is based on the 30th Bhogilal Leherchand Memorial Lecture delivered by Mrs. Meena Shenoy on 5th January 2018. The author talks about her inspiration and the work that she does through her organization Youth4Jobs. The author mentions that through her work and advocacy they have touched about 2,75,000 households, villages, schools, colleges, societies, with the message that there is “Ability in Disability” to help people who are disabled. The author talks about how through her advocacy and work they have been able to help so many students to get jobs. The author also expresses that her long-term strategy is working with schools, and presents an example of the work that they have done with the governments’ girl blind school. The author presents a few inspiring stories of the people who were able to make a huge difference in their lives. The author concludes with the hope that she is leaving a positive legacy for a better India and better tomorrow.
