The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “Innovating India – Road Map 201449” was published on April 5, 2014. The contents of this booklet have been entirely reproduced from a document entitled “Innovating India – Road Map 2014-2019” prepared by Pune International Centre, Pune, (PIC), whose aims and objectives are: to create a world class think tank, to provide a forum for liberal intellectuals, to promote an environment for free and fair public debates and to provide a platform to promote arts and culture. The text talks about an agenda for a resurgent India, an agenda for development which includes ensuring macro- economic stability, shifting the focus of growth to the North, ensuring high growth in industry and services, promoting an energy transition, and conserving the environment. Furthermore, the text discusses fiscal consolidation, rejuvenating India’s manufacturing sector and employment growth, next generation trade reforms, robust innovation ecosystem, building India’s human resources , boosting infrastructure, and ensuring energy security. Then comes India’s Urban Challenge and imperatives of implementation of the aforementioned recommendations.
