‘The Indian Libertarian’ was a fortnightly journal, founded in 1954 by Indian liberal, Ranchhoddas Bhuvan Lotwala, and edited by his daughter Kusum R Lotwala. This edition (Vol. 9, No. 10) of the journal was published on August 15, 1961. The editorial covers developments in India-Pakistan relations. M A Venkata Rao discusses the ideological divide of the Cold War in ‘Educating The Educators’. On a related vein, M N Tholal discusses the implications of Communism in ‘Towards Freedom or Slavery?’. The economic policies of various political parties and the Third Plan is critically analysed in the Economic Supplement. This volume also contains book reviews, news reports and a section on letters to the editor.
