‘The Indian Libertarian’ was a fortnightly journal, founded in 1954 by Indian liberal, Ranchhoddas Bhuvan Lotwala, and edited by his daughter Kusum R Lotwala. This edition (Vol. 8, No. 13) of the journal was published on October 1, 1960. The editorial covers the celebration of Dr M Visvesaraya’s 100th birthday, developments in Congo, and the emerging internal division within the Communist party of India. India’s foreign policy is discussed and critically analysed by M A Venkata Rao in ‘Foreign Policy – Panchsheela and Mandala, Non-Interference versus Balance of Power, Nehru versus Kautilya’. Developments in international relations is discussed in ‘Khrushchev and Disarmament’ by M N Tholal. The Swatantra Party observed 18th September 1960 as Anti-Inflation Day, and their statement is summarized in this edition. Other contributors to this edition include F A Ridley, S Ramanathan, and Numa Clive Negri.
