The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A.D Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “Should we alter our Constitution?” was published in 1976 and was authored by N.A. Palkhivala. The author emphasized that a perfect system of justice administered upon by the rule of law is a mere notion of belief and hope. He highlighted the passage in Eshygbayi Eleko’s case that focused on the non-intervention of the executive in matters otherwise that demand to prove the legality aspect for its intrusion. Mr. Palkhivala further focused on the various constitutional aspects that differed from the reality of things. And lastly hoped for the survival of democracy and freedom for times to come.
