The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled ‘The Future of Managing Agency System’ is authored by C.C. Chokshi, Dhirajlal Maganlal, and R.L.N. Vijayanagar and published in 1966. In this talk titled ‘Government’s outlook on management agencies needs reorientation’, C.C. Chokshi evaluates the need of managing agents in the light of Companies Bill (1954) Patel committee, and Bhabha committee. He advocates for shedding bias about managing agency and proposes government to curb the misdeeds of the agency. Dhirajlal Maganlal highlights the drawbacks of abolishing the managing agents in his essay ‘Shareholders desire continuation of the system’. In his article titled ‘Problems of textile industry ignored’,  R.L.N. Vijaynagar argues that already existing restrictions act as sufficient deterrents for managing agents. He criticizes the Patel Commission, suggests creation of a conducive atmosphere for economic growth, and underlines the futility of abolishing managing agents.
