The author examines the conditions of common men of European countries and developing countries like India. He elaborates the level of poverty in the country. He states that agriculture should have been given more importance than industry. He further mentions that the country has not fared well in terms of education as well. He criticises the working of the government sector and taxation regime of the country. He recommends birth control by persuasion, sound economic policy, welcoming multinational companies, transformation of cities, and more capitalist policies. He feels that every child should have freedom, bread, and enlightenment.
