The Forum of Free Enterprise was a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum published booklets to further its objects. The following book titled, “For Freedom, Farm And Family” was published on August 7, 1959. This booklet is a combination of speeches delivered at a meeting organized by Bangalore Centre on May 29, 1959 which aimed to attract countrywide attention and set a national debate going on some of the major economic policies fundamentally affecting the democratic way of life in the country. “Coop And Kotow” by M. A. Sreenivasan talks about two great champions of freedom; Rajaji and Minoo Masani and how they grace the platform of the Forum of Free Enterprise in Bangalore. “Nagpur And After” by M.R. Masani talks about the situation created by the Nagpur Resolution and its aftermath. Further, the speech discusses how the economic policies of the Nehru Government took the country towards communism. “For Freedom, Farm And Family” by C. Rajagopalachari talks about what democracy and self government mean and what the considerable responsibility for every citizen is and how the citizens have lost the habit of thinking independently and further in his speech, C. Rajagopalachari discourages this habit and supports independent thinking, rightly or wrongly – it does not matter.
