The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled ‘Industrial Finance and Investment in India’ was authored  by A.D. Shroff and published in 1961. The author talks about the classification of  types of finance and forms of capital like preferred, deferred, working, and ordinary capital. He elaborates how the issue of preferred and ordinary capital depends upon the situation of the capital market. He examines the sources of capital like Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India for industrial projects in India and compares it to the Western countries. He highlights the difficulties in raising capital for industrial projects like taxation policies and banking structures. He further discusses the importance of stock exchanges, its role in the economy, how statements from authority affect it, difference between speculation and gabling, significance of inculcating the habit of investment, and the idea of Unit Trusts.
