‘The Indian Libertarian’ was a fortnightly journal, founded in 1954 by Indian liberal, Ranchhoddas Bhuvan Lotwala, and edited by his daughter Kusum R Lotwala. This edition (Vol. 7, No. 26) of the journal was published on February 15, 1960. The editorial covers the Kerala state elections, developments in Russia, and decolonization of Africa among other issues. M A Venkata Rao discusses the numerous strikes that take place in the Indian public sphere and the reasons for them in ‘Rethinking Strikes’. M N Tholal critically analyses India’s foreign policy stance in ‘The Stranglehold of Non-Alignment’. This edition also contains an Economic Supplement with articles by C Rajagopalachari, K S Wood and Prof G N Lawande. This edition also includes letters to the editor, book reviews and news reports.
