The fortnightly journal titled Indian Libertarian was founded in 1954 by Indian liberal, Ranchhoddas Bhuvan Lotwala, and edited by his daughter Kusum R Lotwala. The second December’57 edition was published amid the time when Nehru had something new planned for India and had featured several articles focusing on the road ahead. M.A. Venkata Rao in, “Education for democracy” highlighted that principles and methods to fundamental thinking were necessary for the adoption of a democratic education system in India. In the article titled, “Jinnah and Gandhi,” the hidden prospects of the khilafat movement had been emphasized by the writer. In the article titled, “An Old Tale of Traitors”, Baburao Patel highlighted the Kashmir problem and the much-needed settlement to it, that was required in order to prevent the risk to secular democracy. Following this, F.G. Clark provided an op-ed on the then progressive income tax.  Alpar Bujdoso in “Reflections Of A Revolutionary Of Our Times” highlighted the Hungarian revolution and had given a reference for it through India’s own freedom struggle from western colonization. This edition also covered several op-eds from famous newspapers that orated the tough times several countries were going through. The edition captured important news headlines covering both nation and worldly stands. Lastly, it concluded with book reviews that highlighted contemporary capitalism.
