The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A.D Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “The case for sponsored Radio ” was published in 1957 and was authored by Y.A Fazalbhoy. The author emphasized the significance of sponsored radio. He highlighted the privately-owned station as a robust mechanism for opening new markets for the commerce industry. He further focused on the roles of radio broadcasting for India’s Development back then. He illustrated examples of radio mechanisms of a few countries to contrast the rate of growth and new avenues. And lastly, Mr. Fazalbhoy stressed the implementation of outlets with private enterprises in the field of broadcasting for commercial viability in the sector of broadcasting, trade, and electronic industry.
