The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A.D Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “Controlling Inflation” was published in 2007 and was authored by S.K Rao and S.S Bhandare. The authors here have provided an overview of the issue of inflation and offered solutions in regards to the change in economic policies. They have focused on the adoption of better and realistic monetary and fiscal policies. The first article emphasized the efficiency of better governance and handling of problems as the dire means of controlling inflation. The second article highlighted the advent of increased globalization and the need for coherent economic policies to align the Indian standards with the global ones. However, the author provided an optimistic purview of inflation going down due to the growing intensity of competition and globalization of the economy and hoped for a viable means of sectoral growth.
