The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled Social Control over Commercial banks is authored by A.S Bhaskar and published in 1966. The booklet criticises nationalization of banks and explores its impact on foreign capital and economy. It highlights the need of finance for the public and private sectors. A.S. Bhaskar highlights the vagueness over definition of social ‘control of banks’ and elucidates the two situations where nationalisation can be justified. The booklet contains a newspaper article which elaborates how Reserve Bank Employees Association opposed nationalisation of banks. It further highlights the public opinion about the issue. The booklet shows how Premier U.Nu of Burma realises socialist blunders and opens up the economy. It underlines that socialism in Kenya will not use the instruments of nationalisation.
