Prime Ministers may come and go but they are all enemies of autonomy and federalism because they want to rule India from Delhi on the telephone. They are welcome to try but they will only succeed in breaking the union of India by their stupid efforts to monopolise power.
In 1991 Minoo Masani, three-time Member of Parliament, and one of the founders of the Swatantra party wondered if we deserve our Prime Ministers. His words, originally written against the policies of the former Prime Minister VP Singh, are as true today as they were then.
