The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled ‘General Insurance and Nationalisation’ is authored by J.D. CHokshi and published in 1967. The author argues why insurance should not be nationalised by highlighting its impact. He talks about the government inefficiencies, international nature of the insurance sector, need for foreign capital and why the Government is unsuitable to tackle general insurance.  The appendix shares a view of an ex-MP who is opposed to the move of nationalisation.
