The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff, and has been established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet is titled “Inflation in Brazil – the Principles of Monetary Correction”. The text reproduced from Dr. Roberto de Oliveira Campos’s address at the London Stock Exchange. The speaker has dealt with the technique of monetary correction that has been posed as a solution to the problem of inflation. The speaker himself has studied the use of monetary correction in Brazil and hence his presentation of the case makes it all the more relevant for India, since India and Brazil have run hand in hand in terms of economic comparison.
