The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “Problems Of Free Enterprise” was published on January 1, 1970 by An Observer. The text states how the Second Five Year Plan was better than the First one as it was much more ambitious and was designed to make fuller use of the material and manpower resources of the country. The text mentions that the free enterprise had an enormous capacity to work for the capacity to work for the prosperity of the country in an even greater measure and also discusses the principal features of the Industrial Policy statement of 1948. The text concludes asking that what worthier cause could there be for forging the bonds of comradeship between public and private enterprise than that of accepting together the challenge posed by poverty and suffering?
