‘The Indian Libertarian’ was a fortnightly journal, founded in 1954 by Indian liberal, Ranchhoddas Bhuvan Lotwala, and edited by his daughter Kusum R Lotwala. This edition (Vol. 6, No. 21) of the journal was published on January 15, 1959. The editorial covers Indo-Pak relations since the advent of the military dictatorship of General Ayub Khan in Pakistan, Pakistan’s infiltration into Indian Borders and President Nasser of the United Arab Republic and communism. An article on “Third Five Year Plan” by M.A.Venkata Rao discusses the change of timing of the five year plans so that they do not coincide with election periods. “The Decline Of Democracy” by M.N. Tholal talks about Congress leaders’ testimony and the crime of Jan Sangh. “Our Buddhistic Imbecility & Pak Aggression” by J.K. Dhairyawan Pakistan invading Assam’s border. There is a concluding portion of the article “From The Frying Pan Into The Fire” by Baburao Patel gives the reader a short review of Mirza’s record as the President of Pakistan. “Congress Policy of Communism by stages must be resisted now” by Philip Spratt talks about the meeting where Jan Sangh declared itself against socialism and for individual liberty and recommended the principle of peasant proprietorship. “Communism–A Self-Deception” by Prof. G.N. Lawande talks about public ownership, utopian dream, classless society, dictatorship by proletariat, low wages in communism and employment opportunities. “Foreign Aid And Plan” by “Academicus” suggests that planning and democracy are incompatible. Further, the journal has an article where Jan Sangh calls upon Nehru to warn about Pakistan from any action against Kashmir focusing on Indo-Pak relations and  ends with book reviews.
