The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political organization founded in 1956 by A. D. Shroff and was established to educate public opinion in India on free enterprise and a democratic way of life. The Forum publishes booklets to further its objects. The following booklet titled, “Towards Inclusive Information technology Revolution in India” was published on August 4, 2009 and was authored by F.C. Kohli. This booklet unfolds thoughts and advice from the pioneering genius of the Indian IT industry. The text discusses the current status of India’s IT industry and offers a very objective evaluation of its progress so far in the context of international comparison. Adding to this, the text highlights many major gaps in its application and deployment. The booklet also reflects on the relevant areas of education. While lamenting on some glaring mismatches in the system, it offers several meaningful suggestions for improving the quality and standards of education.
