Summary

This November 1963 issue of Swatantra Newsletter, issued by the Central Office of the Swatantra Party, combines party commentary, political reporting, state-unit news, and three annexures. Its central concerns are opposition to the proposed Seventeenth Amendment, which the newsletter presents as a threat to fundamental rights and peasant property, and criticism of Congress centralisation, economic controls, taxation, and the government’s foreign policy. A further Masani speech interprets recent Indian political developments as evidence of Congress disintegration and warns that economic-policy announcements should be judged by concrete government action.
