Ashapurna Gupta wrote for Quest, the journal of ideas sponsored by the Indian Committee for Cultural Freedom, appearing in one issue of the archive’s run (No. 22 (July/Sept. 1959 (quarterly)).

Quest’s contributor note in No. 22 (July/Sept. 1959 (quarterly) reads:

ASHAPURNA GUPTA is a leading short story writer in Bengali. She has already 33 books, (short stories, novels, sketches, juveniles) to her credit. She has not had the benefit (or handicap) of college education due to the purdah system and other traditional ways of her family; as a result of (and/or in spite of) this fact, there is something very Indian and yet refreshingly modern in her writing.
