FRITZ STERNBERG is a scholar of international reputation and a recognised authority on Marxist economics and historiography. His book under discussion (Capitalism and Socialism on Trial) has been translated into the Japanese and Yugo-Slav languages besides all the principal languages of Western Europe. Marx and Our Time (1955) forms a sort of sequel to this book.
