Quest’s contributor note in No. 34 (monsoon 1962 (cover); JULY/SEPT. 1962 (contents page), p. 110 reads:

ROBERT GILKEY, who has just terminated his post as Cultural Affairs Officer, USIS, Calcutta, took his doctorate in comparative literature from the University of Paris and taught courses in American Civilization at the Universities of Paris and Bordeaux. He was for several years South East Asia correspondent for Manchester Guardian.
