Kamala Das is the recipient for the year 1964 of the Annual Quest Poetry Award. The judges are appointed annually by the various P.E.N. centres in Asia; the Indian representative this year was Mr. Khushwant Singh. Her two poems and the preceding poem by the Japanese poet Ryuichi Tamura will be included in the first Asian PEN Anthology of English Poetry, to be edited by Mr. F. Sionel Jose of Manila and published this autumn.
