S. Y. KRISHNASWAMY, Retired from the Indian Civil Service in 1957: was in charge of post-war planning in the Madras Government, and later, of food production in the Government of India. Author of Rural Problems in Madras, Food Production in India and Kalyani’s Husband (a novel). He has contributed articles on music, art and literary criticism to various periodicals, and a collection of his short stories is soon to be published.
