Eliezer Livneh, born in Russia 1902, has lived in Israel since 1920. Pioneer and settler in the Ein-Hazod communal settlement 1920-23. Member of the Hagana, (an illegal defence organisation) 1939-47, director of its cultural department, editor for the military review Maazachoth and the weekly Eshnav. In 1948-49 he edited the official daily of the Mapi, Israel Labour Party. From 1949 to 1955 he was a member of the Israeli Parliament.

Quest’s contributor note in Vol. III No. 1 (August-September ‘57), p. 17 reads:

Eliezer Livneh has lived in Israel since 1920 and was a member of its Parliament from 1949 to 1955. His article Sidelights on Israel appeared in Quest Vol. II, No. 4 February/March 1957 issue.
