Sidney Hook wrote for Quest, the journal of ideas sponsored by the Indian Committee for Cultural Freedom, appearing in 2 issues of the archive’s run (No. 22 (July/Sept. 1959 (quarterly) to No. 44 (JAN./MAR. 1965 (contents page); cover dated ‘winter 1965’)).

Quest’s contributor note in No. 22 (July/Sept. 1959 (quarterly), p. 101 reads:

SIDNEY HOOK is Professor of Philosophy at New York University. Generally considered an authority on Marxist Philosophy, his books on Marxism were highly esteemed by Communists all over the world until they discovered that he was an original thinker and not just an exegesist. He was in India during December and January last.
