This translation is by another important Indo-Anglian poet, P. Lal, who teaches English literature at a Calcutta college.

Quest’s contributor note in No. 26 (July/Sept 1960), p. 100 reads:

P. LAL teaches English at St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta. His first collection of poems, “The Parrots Death and Other Poems”, has just been published.
